HTC touch sales nearing 1 million!

HTC has sold more than 8,00,000 Touch handsets. This is pretty close to the 1 million (10 lac) mark that the iPhone has just crossed.
There are several factors which helped HTC achieve this figure:
- The iPhone hype
- The global reach for Touch across US, Asia and Europe
- HTC Touch launched before the iPhone
- Attractive pricing
However company officials admit that the sales have been better than expected. And now they are banking on HTC Touch Dual which is a much needed and timely upgrade to the HTC Touch. Touch Dual adds a Keyboard and 3G support which will certainly ensure that Windows Mobile retains its dominant position.
