It has been raining tablets in the Indian market of late, with just about everyone and their grandmother announcing tablets that they claim are the coolest things since sliced bread. Some of these claims (Olive, Samsung, and LG) have merit, while others are best described as vaporous. However, even we must confess to being surprised when we saw a tablet called the Accord @Pad being advertised, running Android 1.7, a version of the OS we did not know existed. The @Pad comes with a Rs 9,990 price tag and sports a 7 inch touch screen, 2GB HDD and a 400 MHz processor, 128 MB RAM, support for Wi-Fi and Ethernet, and of course, that never seen version of Android.
To make matters REALLY fascinating, the @Pad looks exactly like the iPad, even having iTunes, Safari and App Store logos. You can check its website if you are having a difficult time believing us. We do not know about you, but we are certainly not queuing up for this one, notwithstanding all our morbid interest!
Editors note: Would advice users to beware of scams. This one sounds like a fake non existent product and might be a scam as the manufacturer claims to be taking orders on their site directly.
Have look at this link on ebay India. Brand: MID E-book READER. Its got almost the same config as Accord@pad and supposedly more for Rs 6500 only. Cant believe the mess ipad has created in the market. I guess for every one true innovations there are atleast 10 fake claims.
