The iPad 2 With Thunderbolt and 1.2GHz CPU Is Fake, Sorry

I am not sure why many are in hopes about about the recent leak from Amazon’s German site. The so called product listing that appeared on Amazon claimed of a March 17th availability for Apple iPad 2 along with a few more features. On the top of the list were Thunderbolt (yes the same 10Gbps port seen on the new Macbook Pros) and a 1.2GHz processor. And for all of you who are excited about this (and also the ones who fail to get the real thing) – This Is Fake!

Sorry to spoil the party, but a) Thunderbolt on an iPad indicates towards either an Intel chip being used or Intel licensed hardware. Both of which isn’t likely on the iPad. For that matter, not likely on any handheld so soon. b) Apple will never quote the CPU speed of the iPad. So 1.2GHz may sound good, but that will only happen after the reviewers tear down the iPad 2 after its launch!

Lets wait for a few hours and figure out what Apple has for us!
