Android App allows you to backup your SMSes to Gmail
October 18th, 2009 by Annkur

The one thing that we want to recover from a stolen or a broken mobile phone (apart from your contacts list) is undoubtedly your text messages. While Google Sync provides us with an easy way to backup stuff like your calendar and contacts, this cool new app for Android – called ‘SMS Backup’ – actually backs up all your sms (text messages) into your Gmail account. So if you are shifting your Android device, you now know how to move those text messages.
You can either enable an auto-backup or do it manually. All you need to do is keep IMAP enabled on your Gmail account. The best part? This is a FREE app!
Wish: if this thing could work across different platform
