The New MacBook Pro

The recently announced Macbook and Macbook Pro updates have made its way to India within days of its US launch. Also coming this November is the Apple 24″ Cinema Display!

The new Macbook and Macbook Pro are way ahead of their time and competition. Notable enhancements include an aluminium unibody, slimmer / sleeker and lighter design, enlarged glass trackpad with new touch features, and LED-backlit display.

Aluminum Precision unibody enclosure: The most stunning factor of the new MacBook’s is the body design. To eliminate unwanted parts and complexities the base of the new MB and MBP are carved out from a single block of aluminum (Video and more here). Thus resulting in thinner, more durable and incredibly beautiful designs.

LED Displays: Apple is now all LED. First in consumer notebook, all new Macbooks including the MacBook Air will now feature the glossy LED Backlit display.

Touch Features: The new touch gestures includes a four finger swipe, also rotate and pinch. (Video coming soon)

Apples Angeline Tan unveiling the New Apple Macbook and Cinema Display

The 24″ Cinema LED Display sports an iSight camera, a microphone and speakers. It connects with your Macbooks using the new DVI port, USB and also a third power connector which simultaneously charges the Macbook. (Detailed post coming soon)

Apple seems to be more environment friendly than every before. Yesterdays Press Brief in Mumbai had repeated mentions of the same. For pricing and detailed specs we recommend visiting the Apple India Store (duly updated).

Some Facts about the new MacBook Lineup:

  • All Ports on the left
  • Superdrive and Batter indicator lights on the right
  • Faster graphics powered by Nvidia
  • New DVI Port
  • New touch features – The entire trackpad is now the click button
  • The new MacBook Pro is probably the thinnest 15″ Notebook (2.41 cm)
  • No Blu-Ray or Hybrid SLI

Though out friend Kunal was not too about no Hybrid SLI; we already know what Apple is working on. Apple’s Product Marketing Manager ‘Angeline Tan’ was tight lipped about future enhancements. But thats Apple we know- Give some, Keep Some!

As fot the missing Blu-Ray from the Apple lineup here is what Steve Jobs had to say last week “Blu-ray is just a bag of hurt. It’s great to watch the movies, but the licensing of the tech is so complex, we’re waiting till things settle down and Blu-ray takes off in the marketplace.”

India is one of the fastest growing tech markets and we are thrilled to see the latest products from the Top manufacturers making it here within days of International release.
