Arun Sarin bids Goodbye to Vodafone
May 27th, 2008 by Annkur
Vodafone is due to get a new CEO as Arun Sarin makes a move back to US. Arun Sarin became a popular name in media last year when Vodafone came to takeover Hutch in India. Indian born Arun Sarin became the Chief at Vodafone in 2006 and since then he has scaled up the business significantly. He will be replaced by his deputy, Vittorio Colao, in July.
"I have achieved what I set out to achieve on becoming CEO and therefore I felt the timing was right," Arun Sarin
Arun Sarin came to Vodafone a couple of years ago under intense pressure, and he has since implemented the new strategy at Vodafone quite successfully. Under his leadership Vodafone has expanded to emerging markets like India and Turkey, increasing its consumer base from 120 million to roughly 260 million.
Been there done that, Arun Sarin leaves Vodafone on a high, though his departure comes to many as a surprise. All we can say is thx for changing the Pink to Red Arun
