Blackberry inches towards App Center launch, AppStore response!
January 20th, 2009 by Annkur

We said this so many times and its sad that you have to hear it again. The AppStore a big USP for the Apple iPhone. And all its competitors are following the model (yes better late than never). The BlackBerry Store (App Center or whtever it would be called) that was expected since long has moved a step further.
Blackberry has started to accept ideas from developers and the storefront is expected to debut in March.
Some more details previously reported:
• The store payment method will be PayPal. Good.
• Companies will be able to control what applications are downloaded by users. Good for companies, bad for users.
• Storefront will allow any price.
• Developers will retain 80% of the revenue.
• Carriers will be able to distribute software themselves.
