BlackBerry All Set To Launch The Q5 In India

After the announcement and launches of its high end offerings – the Z10 and the Q10, BlackBerry is all set to launch its much talked about – mid range device, the BlackBerry Q5 in India. The launch date is tomorrow, July 16 and it would be happening in Delhi.

The Q5, as we mentioned earlier is an affordable alternative to the Q5. This device was first showcased by BlackBerry back in May. The device, as expected runs BlackBerry OS 10 – making it the third phone from them to do so. This device features a 3.1-inch LCD display – the same size as that of the Q10. The only difference is that the Q10 gets an LED display.

The Q5 has 8GB of internal memory and boasts of 2GB worth of RAM. Like on the Q10, there are twin cameras on the device. The front camera takes 2 megapixel pictures while the rear camera is of 5 megapixels. The more expensive Q10 has an 8 megapixel rear camera.

CNN IBN reports that they expect the Q5 to be priced at around the Rs. 25000 to Rs. 30,000 mark – although this at this point of time is just a rumor. That said, if BlackBerry manages to price this one right, they might just have a winner in their hands.
