Bsquare Corporation accidentally confirmed in a Press Release that Dell is working on Android netbooks and Bsquare is porting Adobe Flash Lite on the same (the release has hence been pulled down by Bsquare). However no specific details about specifications or design of the Dell Android netbook were disclosed accept for a mention of the Dell Mini Inspiron 910.

For HP, Nokia, HTC, Acer etc who have either confirmed or are rumored to be working on a netbook – Android is seen as a first choice for the OS. Google OS is surely going beyond handhelds big time.

Some excerpts from the Bsquare release:

BELLEVUE, WA—(MARKET WIRE)—May 6, 2009 — Bsquare Corporation (BSQR – News), the leading software solutions provider to the global embedded device community, today announced it is porting Adobe’s Flash Lite 3.17 technology onto Dell Netbooks running Google’s Android platform.

Industry analysts also predict that Android will gain traction on smart devices, such as the ultra-portable Dell Mini Inspiron 910, which are used in a range of industries.
