The phone, which is making news through some leaked pics from Twitter, has been approved by FCC. The HTC NexusOne – or the rumored Google Phone – is said to to have been leaked by employees of Google, and has undergone some additions to its rumored specification sheet after the FCC approval.
The FCC coding reveals that the phone is developed by HTC and has been named ‘NEXUSONE’. The added features now include microSD support, 802.11b/g WiFi, and Bluetooth 2.1 + EDR. Also, the phone is a quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE with UMTS/HSUPA, which means it can support an uplink of upto 2Mbps and a downlink of upto 7.2Mbps.
The other unconfirmed speculations now remaining include the brand name that the phone will carry – HTC Passion or Google phone. Also, whether the phone would be exclusive to a carrier or sold unlocked is still not known. Some leaked pictures have confirmed that the handset is powered by Android 2.1. If the NexuaOne is sold on carrier subsidies, T-Mobile is the most expected and rumored carrier.
