Fifth generation iPod nano has a camera

Apple’s music event brought an exciting upgrade to the iPod Nano. Rumors of there being an iPod with a camera had the brightest of the iStreet befuddled much before the event was announced. But as always, Apple still manages to bring in a few surprises.
The camera came, but to the iPod nano (not the iPod Touch) as most of the rumors had predicted. Interestingly, the iPod nano has more than just the camera update. The ever slim-o nano now proudly displays an FM radio, a voice recorder and a pedometer as well.
The camera can take pictures and videos that can also be uploaded to YouTube at a single click. This upload can be done after the iPod has synced with your computer.
The FM radio performs as a normal FM radio should, save for a couple of very sweet details: live pause and iTunes Tagging. Now that’s how radio should be in the 21st century 
There’s also a pedometer built into the diminutive iPod nano body, probably to continue encouraging those health conscious Apple fans who want to know how many calories they burn every day by walking. The pedometer and the data is on hand when the player is in sync with the Nike+ software.
The iPod nano has undergone some noticeable changes on the outside too, including having the screen size increased to 2.2″. It’s body feels glossier and the corners are less sharp.
The 8GB iPod nano will be available at US$149 while the 16GB version will cost US$179. The new nano will also be available in nine colors – silver, black, purple, blue, green, orange, pink, yellow and red.

Just a couple of months after being disappointed by Apple which bumped up the Nano with a camera but left the iPod touch in the cold to conquer your hearts with just its improved gaming capabilities (though I am happy having predicted that right!), we hear that Apple is now certain to launch the camera version of the touch in Spring 2010. And this comes with its own share of disappointment, saying that the camera wouldn’t even be as good as the one in iPod nano 5G. [...]
