Gionee M7 and Steel 2 Plus are two new mid-range smartphones that were unveiled in China on Monday. These smartphones come with 18:9 full screen design and also include large-sized batteries.
Gionee M7 Specifications and Features
Gionee M7 sports a metal unibody design that is styled with concentric circles that emerge from the rear-mounted fingerprint scanner. It comes in five colors: Sapphire Blue, Star Blue, Maple Red, Champagne Gold and Black. Its dimensions are 157 x 76 x 7.2 mm and it weighs 180 grams.
The M7 features a 6.01-inch FullView AMOLED screen that supports an aspect ratio of 18:9. It produces a FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels.
The MediaTek Helio P30 chipset present inside the Gionee M7 is coupled with 6 GB of RAM. The handset is packed with a 4,000mAh battery that carries support for fast charging. It features an internal storage of 64 GB and it also carries support for microSD card through hybrid SIM slot. The M7 is loaded with Amigo OS 5.0 skinned Android 7.1.1 Nougat OS. It also features a USB-C port and a 3.5mm audio jack.
The dual camera system present on the backside of the phone includes a f/1.8 aperture 16-megapixel sensor and an 8-megapixel depth sensor. The dual cameras are coupled with features like PDAF and LED flash. The frontside features an 8-megapixel selfie camera.
Gionee Steel 2 Plus Specifications and Features
The Gionee Steel 2 Plus has arrived as a successor of Steel 2 smartphone that was released at the start of the year. Some markets will be receiving the Steel 2 Plus as M7 Power. The smartphone measures 156.3 x 75.6 x 8.6 mm and it weighs 187 grams. It comes in color choices like Black, Blue and Gold.
The Steel 2 Plus also features an 18:9 FullView display of 6 inches that produces a resolution of 1,440 x 720 pixels. It is driven by Snapdragon 435 chip and 4 GB of RAM. The handset is equipped with a 5,000mAh battery with fast charging support.
The native storage available on the Steel 2 Plus is 64 GB and it also features a hybrid SIM slot that carries support for microSD card. The rear side of the phone features a f/2.0 aperture 13-megapixel camera and a fingerprint reader. It has a selfie camera of 8-megapixel.
Gionee M7, Steel 2 Plus (M7 Power) Price and Availability
Gionee M7 carries a pricing of 2,799 Yuan ($422) in China. The smartphone is already available for purchase in the country. The Steel 2 Plus will be going on sale in China from Sept. 30 with a price tag of 1,999 Yuan (~$301). As of this writing, there is no information available on the Indian arrival of the M7 and M7 Power.
