Google adds more fuel to tablet rumors with Bumptop Acquisition

It looks like Google’s future has a 3-D Tablet with multi-touch interface and much more. The search giant has just acquired BumpTop, the guys who made the 3D multi-touch software for Mac OS X and Windows 7. There is a speculation that Google may implement this in their upcoming Google Chrome or Android tablet to match up with the iPad / Windows 7 tablets.

BumpTop will create a 3D desktop with multi-touch features which would enable feature like flinging around files and folders, zooming in and out of the in 3D view, stacking files and pining files to the walls. If such features arrive on the rumored Google Chrome OS tablets, then it will truly be a spectacular device.

Previously, we showed you the Google Chrome OS Tablet Concept Interface, compared to that this is truly and amazing improvement. Sadly, there are no details available for the same. Also, HTC and Google are rumored to be working on a Google Chrome OS /Android tablet. Another noteworthy point is that Google has already confirmed that the Chrome OS will support Flash and we also know that Android phones will soon have Flash, this can be a major difference between the Google tablet and the iPad and for this reason the Chrome OS and Android based tablets may be more in demand.

Surely, the 3D multitouch feature will be an amazing feature to take Apple’s iPad down the drain. But, nothing is confirmed yet and there is still a very long time to go (give that there is no official word on the tablet by Google yet). Check out the video above and let us know what you feel.
