For enjoying the free Google Maps Navigation hands free on your Nexus One, you do need a car dock. And what would be a better option than to buy it from Google itself. Google has added the Nexus One car dock in its phone store which is available for $55. The car dock comes with built-in speakers and connects to the phone via Bluetooth. The phone launches a Car Home Application automatically when it is docked and provides easy access to Maps and Navigation, Voice Search, Contacts, and Music.
The Nexus One is recharged when docked by a 12V car charger included. The adhesive disc allows to mount the dock on windshield, dashboard and even textured surfaces, as mentioned on the official Car Dock support page.
Its interesting to see that its Google and not HTC that is selling the accessory. Gives more idea of how closely Google wants to control the experience with the Nexus series (good sign I say!)
