Honor View 10, the Rebranded Honor V10 For Global Market Officially Announced

In the previous month, Huawei’s sub-brand Honor had unveiled the V10 flagship phone. On Tuesday, the Chinese firm officially unveiled the Honor View 10 smartphone through a launch event in London. It has arrived as a rebranded version of Honor V10 for global markets.

Honor View 10 Specifications and Features

The Honor View 10 features a full metallic chassis that measures 157 x 74.98 x 6.97mm and weighs 172 grams. It houses a 5.99-inch IPS LCD screen that supports FHD+ resolution of 2,160 x 1,080 pixels and offers an aspect ratio of 18:9. Even though it features slim bezels, Honor has included a fingerprint scanner on the bottom bezel of the phone.

According to Honor, the View 10 is the first AI smartphone from the company. The Kirin 970 chipset that is coupled with a dedicated neural processing unit (NPU) brings AI capabilities on the smartphone. The View 10 features 3D Facial Animation feature that functions like Apple’s Animoji (animated emoji). It allows cartoon characters to mirror the facial expressions of the user. The smartphone is also equipped with facial recognition feature.

The intelligent display rotation feature knows when to and when not to change the orientation of the display. For instance, when a user is using the Honor View 10 on the bed, it will not rotate the display. The other AI capabilities of the smartphone include intelligent notifications locks, scene recognition, and real-time translation. When an unknown face is using the phone, it can smartly hide sensitive data like calls and messages.

A selfie camera of 13-megapixel is present on the front panel of the View 10. The AI powered Portrait Mode helps in beautifying selfies.

The Honor View 10 is pre-loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo that is overlaid with a layer of EMUI 8.0 skin. The 5V/4.5A SuperCharge fast charging enabled 3,750mAh battery is present under the back panel of the phone. It offers a standby time of 22 hours and a talk time of 23 hours. The connectivity features available on the smartphone include 3.5mm audio jack, USB Type-C, 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth v4.2, Infrared, NFC and GPS.

Honor View V10 Pricing and Availability

The View 10 is priced at 499 euros (~Rs. 38,000) and 449 GBP (~Rs. 38,900). It is expected to arrive in European markets like France, Germany, Italy, Spain, Russia and the U.K. on 8th January. It would be also available in the U.S. and India from the same date. However, the exact pricing for these markets are not known. Midnight Black and Navy Blue are the two color variants of the View 10.
