Earlier in this month, popular leakster Evan Blass had revealed that the upcoming budget phone from HTC is codenamed as Breeze. He had also revealed the key specs of the smartphone. He had also speculated that this phone may arrive in the market with HTC Desire 12 moniker. A leaked photo of the retail box of the Desire 12 has surfaced to reveal the key specs of the phone.
The leaked photo has revealed that the HTC Desire 12 will be coming with a 5.5-inch display that will carry support for HD+ resolution of 720 x 1,440 pixels. It means that the budget phone will be carrying support for an aspect ratio of 18:9. The MediaTek chipset featuring a quad-core processor is expected to power the Desire 12.
The chipset will be coupled with 3 GB of RAM and it is expected to arrive with 32 GB of storage. For additional storage, it features a microSD card slot. The rear panel of the phone may feature 12-megapixel camera enabled with features such as PDAF and full HD video shooting. The front panel is flanked with 5-megpaixel BSI camera sensor. It is loaded with connectivity features like dual-SIM support, Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, 4G LTE and Bluetooth. It is fueled by 2,730mAh battery.
The information that was leaked by Blass matches with the key specs that has appeared on the leaked photo of the retail box of Desire 12. However, the tipster had claimed that the Desire 12 would be arriving with 2 GB of RAM and 16 GB storage. It seems that this could be lower configuration variant of the smartphone. It is likely to come loaded with Android 8.0 Oreo.
As of this writing, there is no information available on the release date of the Desire 12. The pricing details of the phone may surface in the coming days. The Taiwanese is likely to showcase the smartphone at the upcoming Mobile World Congress (MWC) 2018 tech expo event in Barcelona, Spain in the coming week. As far as the HTC U12 flagship phone is concerned, it is likely to get unveiled in May this year.
