HTC Pico Images Leaked; New Wildfire Successor?

Another day, another HTC phone leak. It was just yesterday that we talked about the HTC Bliss – a mid range Android handset targeted at them ladies. Today, we have leaked images of yet another mid range HTC handset. The device, known as the HTC Pico seems to be an extremely small handset that would be much smaller than regular sized handsets.

These pictures have been leaked on the Chinese website XDA.cn. The first thing you would notice about the phone is the fact that the device is almost identical to the current Wildfire S. Even the leaked specs are identical. The Pico is thought to be powered by a Qualcomm MSM7227 600 MHz processor – the same as the one on the Wildfire S. It also get a similar 5 megapixel camera with LED flash as mentioned in the spec sheet. Looking at the images however, there is no sign of an LED. But then, the flash might be neatly integrated on to the camera unit.

The Pico gets 384 MB of RAM which might be grossly inadequate in today’s world. This is also much lesser than The 384 MB of RAM is less than the 512 MB in the Wildfire S. There is doubt as to what the screen size of the Pico would be – although it is expected to get a 3.2 inch, 480×320 pixel display. Connectivity wise, the device is well spec’d with support for Wi-Fi, HSPA, Bluetooth, and GPS.

The Pico is expected to run Android Gingerbread along with a (possibly) stripped down version of HTC Sense known as Sense Zero.

This one is expected to mark its landfall by the end of 2011.
