Indigo introduces $149 e-Reader

Indogo Book and Music, a leading e-book content distributor with over 2 million book titles,  announced their own e-reader, dubbed Kobo. The Kobo e-reader would be priced at $149 and would target the bargain hunters. The low cost sure comes with less features than the Amazon’s Kindle or Barnes and Noble’s Nook. Kobo does not have WiFi or 3G connectivity options. The data needs to be transferred through USB cable or Bluetooth.

The internal memory is limited to 1GB, but this device supports four SD cards. Kobo will support books in ePUB and PDf formats. Kobo users can sync data with their online Kobo account which allows access to their books over multiple devices.

All the controls of the e-reader are built on the side of the device with a blue navigation pad in the front. A full battery charge would be good to go for 8000 page turns. The device comes preloaded with 100 free classic e-books. There is no news on when the e-reader would hit the shelves but if you want something better right now – see the Infibeam Pi!
