A lot is happening in Indian smartphone market lately. With Indian brands like Micromax launching a range of devices for all segments of users, other Chinese brands like Xiaomi are taking it on with imparting impressive features in their devices. Amidst such booming market, the US based company InFocus has entered India by launching InFocus M2, a smartphone designed for the shutterbugs and selfie lovers. InFocus M2 is competitively priced at INR 4,999. This smartphone is exclusively available on the e-commerce site, Snapdeal.
The device houses a 4.2-inch TFT display unit providing WXGA (768*1280 pixels) resolution. The pixel density comes up to 355ppi. InFocus M2 holds a MediaTek MT6582 processor clocked at 1.3GHz. The processor is coupled with 1GB RAM. Inbuilt storage capacity of the device reads to be 8GB. But the memory unit can be expanded up to 64GB using microSD card. The phone runs on Android Kitkat 4.4 version with InFocus’ InLife UI running over the top.
Apart from these specifications, the most prominent feature for the device is its 8MP rear and front camera. Both the cameras are equipped with LED flash unit and come with auto-focus capability. The rear camera is also provided with a BSI sensor. Rear camera comes with features of exposure compensation, scene setting, white balance, continuous shots, photo enhancer, etc. With its price tag, this would certainly cheer up the selfie lovers in the market.
Connectivity features for the device reads to be 3G compatible, Wifi, Bluetooth, A-GPS and GPRS/EDGE. InFocus M2 is powered by a 2010mAh non-removable battery unit. It comes equipped with gesture controls, TV-Direct mode and pre-installed Meitu Beauty FX application.
With such features available in a device, the phone is priced at a comparatively higher range. InFocus also touts about the device being manufactured by Foxconn, which is one of the largest manufacturers around. Other such selfie centric device is Micromax Canvas Selfie which comes with 13MP front and rear camera.
With new manufacturers coming in the market, the giants will have to rethink upon their pricing strategies. This will bring a lot for the consumers to rejoice upon, be it in terms of options available or the price tags.
