Apple consumes 13% of the global flash memory market, and It has been prompt to react on the falling rates of the flash memory to upgrade and tune its product line. It upgraded the iPod Touch and iPhone with a 32GB and a 16GB version and now it has cut down the price of its entry level MP3 player, iPod shuffle. Thus ending all the criticism that it faced for having the most expensive entry level MP3 player.
A 1GB iPod shuffle shall now cost only $49 (approx INR Rs 2000). At the same time Apple has also announced 2GB shuffle (@ $69). iPod shuffle does not feature a display (also lacks FM and Voice recorder) compared to the competition from Transcend T.Sonic 610 series and the entry level Creative players. However the pricing now becomes far more competitive.
