Lenovo Announces the Vibe X3 in India: Yet Another Winner With X in the Name

It seems that the winning formula for having a successful product in mid range is to have an ‘X’ in the moniker. LG found out with the LG Nexus 5X, Lenovo did it with the Lenovo Vibe X2, and recently, the Huawei Honor 5X received a lot of attention at the CES and is anticipated by just about everyone when it launches in India tomorrow. Taking their luck with the ‘X’ moniker to the next product, Lenovo has announced the Vibe X3 today in India.

The phone will be available exclusively on Amazon from tomorrow and will be compatible with the ANT VR kit that Lenovo announced with the launch of the Lenovo K4 Note. The Vibe X3 is expected to be the last major flagship in the Vibe series after it was revealed that going forward, Lenovo will reserve the Moto moniker for high-end devices, while Vibe will be used for low end and mid-budget segment phones.

On the specifications front, the Vibe X3 packs a powerful punch and brings high-end features like Stereo Front Speakers, powered by Dolby Atmos, a Full HD 5.5 inch display with Gorilla Glass 3 and Snapdragon 808 chipset. The Snapdragon 808 SoC has been used on the likes of  Nexus 5X and LG G4 with a lot of success and should hold good for the Vibe X3. On the memory side, you will get 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB ROM on the phone as well as a hybrid SIM slot, where you can either use a second nano-SIM or a Micro SD card. The rear camera is a 21 MP sensor with PDAF and f/2.0 aperture while the front-facing snapper is an 8 MP unit with f/2.2 aperture. The battery on the device is a mammoth 3600 mAh.

On the software side, the device will come with Android 5.1 out of the box with Lenovo’s skin on top. The phone has been priced at Rs 19,999 and will be available exclusively online at least for now.
