Back at the CES’15, Lenovo had showcased its Tab 2 A7-10 and Tab 2 A7-30 tablets. These were priced at $99 (approximately INR 6,300) and $129 (about INR 8,100) respectively and were designed to target the users looking for mid-range devices. After silently launching the Tab 2 A7-10 in India, Lenovo has now announced the Tab 2 A7-30. This new model has been priced at INR 8,500 in the Indian market.
Lenovo Tab 2 A7-30 sports a 7-inch IPS display which provides a resolution of 1024*600 pixels. The pixel density translates to 170ppi. One might have expected better resolution though. Powering this tablet is a 1.3GHz quad-core MediaTek MT8382M processor. The processor is coupled with 1GB of RAM space. For the graphics related processes, it is equipped with a Mali 400 GPU. Internal memory storage capacity of the device reads to be 8GB. Storage capacity can be extended to 32GB via microSD card. Tab A7-30 runs on Android KitKat 4.4, which can be upgraded to Lollipop 5.0 version.
Camera units for the tablet might disappoint many of the users. Tab A7-30 has been equipped with a primary snapper of 2MP and a secondary snapper of VGA type. More to the disappointment is the primary camera having no LED flash unit. Connectivity features include 2G/3G support with voice calling, WiFi, Bluetooth 4.0, GPS, etc. The 3G variant is priced at INR 11,800 and comes with a boosted up internal memory unit of 16GB. It features front facing speakers having Dolby Audio system. Tab A7-30 is powered by a 3450mAh battery. For now, this device comes only in one colour – Ebony Black and is speculated to hit the markets soon.
Unlike the Tab 2 A7-10 which had sharper curves, this device has more rounded edges. Also as compared to the A7-10, there is a larger receiver imparted above the display unit. Earlier we saw, Asus launching Fonepad 8 which packed impressive features but at a little higher price range. But after looking at the specifications of TAb 2 A7-30, it seems like it has packed little bit of all and offers the users a tablet experience at a budget price.
