LG Reveals The Optimus G Pro Phablet Before MWC

Just as we were coming to terms with the Optimus G – the flagship Android from LG, they have come up with a phablet sized successor to it. This one, known as the Optimus G Pro clings on to the legacy and credentials set by its predecessors and expands the display size to 5.5 inches. Initially thought to be directed exclusively at the Korean market, the Optimus G Pro is now thought to have global aspirations.

As expected from a device of this class, it would be powered by the latest and greatest of the current mobile processor lineup which in this case happens to be a Qualcomm Snapdragon SoC clocked at 1.7 Ghz. A more than sufficient 2 GB of RAM at the help should ensure smooth performance. Storage junkies would be happy to know that this one gets 32 GB of internal memory. And unlike most others who Choose to omit an expansion slot and think 32 Gb is “enough”, LG thinks people would like to store even more stuff on their phones. That explains the presence of a micro SD card slot which will let you expand its memory even further.

Current reports also point towards the device getting a curved glass in black or white which reportedly produces a 2.5 D effect. I have no idea what that means. Anyway, we are hoping LG would be officially showing this off at the forthcoming Mobile World Congress.
