LG Outs Optimus Hub (E510F) In Italy, Runs Android 2.3

LG Optimus Hub, Android phone

LG has announced an October release for its new mid-segment Android smartphone, the Optimus Hub. The Hub is powered by a 800MHz processor and was previously referred as the Univa. The Hub has a decent spec sheet for the price tag of Eur 199 (roughly 270 USD), the phone runs on currently the latest Android version 2.3. LG has the Optimus One that did pretty well as an entry level smartphone in India, a timely release of the Hub should help LG.

LG Optimus Hub Specifications:

  • 3.5″ Touch Screen, 480×320 (HVGA)
  • 550nit bright display
  • 800 MHz processor (Qualcomm MSM8227)
  • 512MB RAM
  • Android 2.3.4 (Gingerbread)
  • 5 Megapixel back camera, VGA front
  • Bluetooth 3.0 / WiFi / DLNA

A €199 price tag should translate to anywhere between Rs 13000 – 15000 in the Indian market. Samsung and Motorola have done well with their Android offerings below Rs 15,000 in the Indian market and we believe the Hub has good potential. October isn’t really far, and we wonder if the LG Optimus Hub would look as exciting after Google outs Android’s next version, Ice Cream Sandwich.
