LG plans to release Google Android based phones early 2009

According to announcements made in the Mobile World Congress 2008 trade show in Barcelone, LG plans to release its first Android powered device in early 2009. "We will bring it out late in 2008 or early 2009," said Chang Ma, the company’s vice president for marketing strategy.
LG is part of the 30 companies that support Google Android platform. Android is based on Linux and is Open Source. (Latest Video Demo of Android here)
