Man (not) killed by Cellphone Explosion ?? NO! (Updated)

A 33 year old excavator driver in Korea was lost his life after his cellphone battery exploded. Although there hasn’t been any official word (as always) about the manufacturer of the mobile nor the cause behind the explosion, the photos released indicated the handset to be a Samsung make.

(As seen in the picture the cellphone batter has melted. Although i don’t use a Samsung (LG..etc), i would still certainly rush and make sure that my life insurance is up to date …

UPDATE:

Apparently LG (suspected manufacturer of the exploding handset) has claimed that the injuries suffered by the person is far too severe to be caused by a cellphone explosion, calling for immediate investigation (thats what they always do) they termed the incident as “virtually impossible”. As always we doubt if we will ever hear an update on this case as such incidents are a major PR concern for the companies involved.

OK, Its official, the person did NOT die due to a cellphone explosion. Also the phone model in discussion was a LG.
