MEElectronics M9P in-ear headphones with mic (Review)

Getting a perfect pair of earphones is bit easy compared to finding a good headset that promises good quality audio feedback.  Even if you manage to find one, it would be difficult for you to stretch your budgets. Here we have MEElectronics M9P in-ear headphones with mic that are meant for audiophiles looking forward to a unified solution. Aimed at the budget conscious consumers, M9P headphones with inline mic are compatible with Apple iPhones, RIM BlackBerrys and Google Android phones. Check the complete list of compatible phones and players here.

The M9P earphones pair came in transparent package that include the in-ear headphones with carry case, five sets of ear tips, and a cable organizer. Overall packaging was decent and bit snazzy. Out of five ear tips three were standard size-based variants – small, medium and large. While the other two were double-flanged silicon ear tips – one pair of black and the grey one for balanced sound. Must say that’s quite thoughtful and generous to offer 5 different ear tips to choose from.  The cables come with clear plastic coatings and the neodymium magnets are placed inside the aluminium earplugs. In short it’s a comprehensive bundle for a headphone with inline mic.

Audiophiles and avid music buffs tend to look for better sounding headphones. Let me remind you costly pairs are not always better for you can get good pair even in budget friendly segment. The M9P places itself well for the music aficionados with strict budget for headphones with inline mic.

Thanks to MEElectronics for providing me with pair that underwent 50 hours of burning already. That did save loads of hours and I got engrossed in using them beyond music. It took me a while to get used to the fact that there was no physical button on the inline mic’s remote. Hence using the built-in remote-control on the While hooking up them with select Nokia phones the inline mic gave very clear sound output during calls. Obviously the feedback was from the person whom I called up or received a call from. I also tried the M9P with my room-mates Android handset and it worked like a charm.

Also tested the pair whilst a Skype call over Wi-Fi to a friend located in US and the voice quality was pretty clear. The in-ear nature of the phone easily helps isolating the surrounding noise while attending a call on the phone using the M9P pair. The M9P easily convinced me that it could be used with compatible handsets without worrying about audio quality from my end.

Now let’s deal with the most important aspect of the M9P – Music quality. Before I even mention about quality, let me share bit of personal experience. My gadget box has three pair of in-ear earphones that include SoundMagic PL-11, Sony EX35LP and Creative EP-630. But instead of picking any of those my music-enthusiast roommate took away the M9P pair for his Christmas trip home. Infact he used the same pair to call and inform me that he was enjoying the amazingly boomy bass with Classical, Hip-Hop, and Jazz genres.

On testing the audio quality, I was bit surprised to find such ear-pleasing clarity of sound and bit boomy bass that was really nice and not off-putting. I could easily make out the different instruments being used in any particular soundtrack. Songs from alternative, reggae and rock genre sounded pretty smooth and also gave widened stereo like output.

Conclusion:

Usually we tend to use the headset that come with mobile phones or the pair of stock earphones with iPods for listening. Most of the time either these earphones aren’t comfortable, you lost the ear-tips or the audio quality is just below-par. If you’ve invested good amount on your phone, iPod or iPad then you should certainly consider the inexpensive MEE M9P in-ear headphones with inline Mic.
It might take you a while to get used to with the remote-control but the learning effort would be totally worth it. Quite interesting to see a headphone with in-line mic to offer such dashing sound quality and stand next to earphones like SoundMagic PL30 and Creative EP830 – neither of them have an in-line mic.

MEElectronics M9P in-ear headphones pair is available for Rs. 1250 from http://mediahome.in website and is good long term investment since most users tend to change their phones often. In this price you’ll get impressive audio quality, clear sound providing mic, 5 pair of ear-tips and carry case. Seriously, there’s nothing more you can ask  for in that  price.

In the end, the decision lies on you and what you love to listen to.

Wishing you a very happy new year on behalf of Team OG. Have a great year ahead.
