Micromax Canvas Turbo launched For Rs.19,990/-

Micromax caused a lot of stir in the media when they got hold of Hugh Jackman as their brand ambassador to launch their new flagship phone. Today, the Indian Mobile Manufacturer has finally launched the Canvas Turbo smartphone, its newest flagship device.

The Canvas Turbo is Micromax’s first smartphone with a full HD display. It has a 5-inch Full HD CGS (Continuous Grain Silicon) display. It is powered by a 1.5 GHz quad-core MediaTek MT6589T (Turbo) chipset with 2GB of RAM. It houses a 13 megapixel camera with LED flash at the rear that can record Full HD (1080p) videos at 30 fps and a 5 megapixel camera in the front.

This dual-SIM phone has an internal memory of 16 GB of which 12.5 GB is available to the user. The smartphone runs on Android version 4.2.1 JellyBean and Micromax have stated that an update will be made available via OTA.

The camera app on the Canvas Turbo flaunts the ‘Camerazzi’ feature, which includes features like 360-degree panorama, Cinemagraph and Object Eraser.

The phone also comes preloaded with a few apps and features which were inclusive in their previous flagship devices, like Canvas 4 and the Canvas Doodle 2. Apps like Hike, Kingsoft Office, M!Security for anti-theft and anti-virus protection, M!Unlock to access “Blow to Unlock” feature, M!Live, Opera Mini browser, etc also make their presence felt. It also comes with the newly launched BBM for Android.

The Canvas Turbo will be available at a price of Rs. 19,990/- in retail stores from the 26th of October 2013.

One major drawback of the phone would be the lack of support for expandable memory. This could be a turn off for users who seek to store movies and music. Micromax could have added a slot for microSD card; for which the engineers found a place for in the Canvas 4.
