Rahul Sharma, the co-founder of Micromax said that the company got a tremendous response by receiving more than 3 lakh registrations, which were beyond their expectations. The registrations were supposed to be open till 25th December but due to the mega response they recieved, they chose to close it a day earlier. Although the registrations were within India, it caught eyes of people from overseas market, too.
When asked on the unfair proportion of units which are been put up for sale in regards to their demand, Rahul Sharma said that they weren’t expecting such a huge response and that they are working on ramping their capabilities so they can eventually increase the number of units to be put out for sale. People willing to buy this device can also opt for Cash-On-Delivery.
Talking about the Cyanogen based smartphone, the Yu Yureka has a 5.5-inch display with 1280 x 720p resolution with a Gorilla Glass 3 protected screen. It’s powered by Snapdragon 615 CPU along with Adreno 405 GPU along with 2 GB of RAM. The device comes in with 16 GB of internal storage, out of which 12 GB is accessible. The phone sports a 13 MP rear camera along with a 5 MP front camera.
One of the differentiating factor is that users can root their device and not worry about sacrificing their warranty. Rahul Sharma said it gives the users to run endless customisation on their device which will offer them an enhanced product experience which is not supported by any other brand in the country.
In relevant news, rival Xiaomi is also hosting flash sale of its own on Tuesday-13 January for Redmi 1S and Redmi Note 4G will go on sale at Flipkart. Xiaomi has said that it has sold 1 million smartphones till now and looks like the number will constantly increase.
