Microsoft Launches Lumia 532 Dual-SIM Phone At A Price Tag of Rs. 6499

Microsoft seems to be on a roll. After unveiling the Lumia 435 just a few days ago, it has launched Microsoft Lumia 532 in India. Microsoft also revealed the dual sim variant of Lumia 435 along with the Lumia 532. The entry level smartphone has been priced at Rs 6,499 and will face competition from models like Moto E, Lenovo A6000, Samsung J1 and Yu Yureka. As is common with most Lumias, the Microsoft Lumia 532 Dual SIM comes in bright green, bright orange, white and black colors.

The Microsoft Lumia 532 has a 4-inch WVGA display which translates to about 233 pixels per inch. It is powered by a 1.2 GHz quad-core Snapdragon 200 SoC and runs on the latest Windows Phone 8.1 with the Denim update. All the processing power is backed up by a 1 GB  RAM and a Adreno 302 GPU. The phone packs in a 5-megapixel fixed-focus primary camera without flash and VGA secondary camera. Although the specs are nothing to get excited about, it must be kept in mind that the Windows Phone operating system can be buttery smooth.

The Microsoft Lumia 532 comes with 8 GB of internal storage and an expandable memory up to 128 GB. It packs in a 1560 mAh battery. In addition, Microsoft is offering some freebies like 30GB free OneDrive storage, Lumia Camera and Lumia Selfie apps, Microsoft Office mobile suite and Skype integration in the all-new Lumia 532. It also comes with tie ups with apps like Paytm offering cashback up to Rs. 750 on mobile recharges, Redbus app with discounts worth Rs 1500 on bus tickets and Truecaller app with subscription of 6 months worth Rs 360 free. Like most phones in this range, the main selling point of Lumia 532 remains the dual sim functionality which is quite popular in the entry level Indian smartphone market.

Microsoft took over from Nokia near the end of 2014 and seems to be releasing a lot of budget phones for the Indian market. The first phone launched by Microsoft was the Lumia 535 in India.
