Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640XL Coming To India On April 7

Microsoft Lumia 640 and 640XL Coming To India On April 7

After showcasing the Lumia 640 and it’s bigger cousin Lumia 640XL at the Mobile World Congress this year, Microsoft is preparing to launch them in India. Microsoft has a event planned on April 7 where the launch of the latest Lumias are expected. The Lumia 640 and 640 XL will join Microsoft Lumia 532 and Lumia 435  to widen the Lumia portfolio in India.

The Lumia 640 should be looked upon as a successor to the somewhat popular Lumia 635 smartphone. The Lumia 640 packs in a 5-inch HD (720p) display along with a 8 Megapixel primary camera. The front camera is only 1 Megapixel which is very disappointing in the current scenario. . The phone is powered by a 1.2GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon processor, coupled with 1GB of RAM which should be enough to deliver a seamless experience. The Lumia 640 sports a 2500 mAh battery which should be enough to last for more than a day and has dual-sim capabilities.

The Lumia 640XL has a bigger 5.7- inch ,720p display with Corning Gorilla Glass 3 protection. The cameras too get a bump as the primary camera is now 13 Mega pixels and the front camera is 5 Mega pixels. The Lumia 640XL shares the same processor and RAM with the Lumia 640. However, the Lumia 640XL gets a much bigger battery at 3,000 mAh owing to the bigger screen.

Reports are coming in that Microsoft may also go the Motorola way by selling these two phones exclusively on Flipkart. The report also added that Flipkart has listed that the device, Lumia 640, would be included in its April commission payouts under the exclusive category, which means that at least online, the device will be exclusively sold via the e-retailer. We are expecting that the device will be sold via the offline route too.
