Moments from Taqneeq 3.0 (2010)

Visiting technical festivals in colleges around is a sort of vacation for me and if there is any other place that I find home apart from the @roomno368 at TechFest, its MPSTME’s Taqneeq. Being a partner with the event since it’s first edition back in 2008, it feels great to see a new team take over the event each year. I spent my last weekend at MPSTME hanging out with old friends at Taqneeq 3.0, and even participated in a few events at the festival.

Here is a quick report by Rudri Mankad on Taqneeq 3.0 and some pictures that I clicked:

It was a diverse display of technical events, guest lectures and gaming sessions at the third edition of the annual technical festival, ‘TAQNEEQ 3.0’ of CSI, MPSTME; that created the impact the theme suggested. Taqneeq 3.0 was set along the lines of ‘Chaos Theory’, depicting the order that can be found in random disorder created due to the recent extensive, progress on the technological front, and the festival highlighted the need for the order to ensure the betterment of the planet and thereby our lives.

The leading attractions at this fest were Hovercraft Design & Race, Cover the Fest, B-boying workshop, to name a few.

The tech enthusiasts got their regular dose of technology through the hacking workshop, and the budding engineers battled to the top in Junkyard Wars where they constructed a prototype using junk from the hardware yards, Hovercraft Design & Race, where they successfully built and raced the vehicular gliders and Transformers, where they designed a car that got converted into a boat as it entered the water body terrain. The retro and LAN games brought out the fighter in the participants as they engaged in hard-core gaming.

‘The Missing Link’ saw participants (Annkur being one of themJ) rack their brains to decipher the connection between the given pictures. A blended dose of fun and knowledge was provided by ‘Encrypton’ and ‘Life-sized Ludo’, wherein participants dodged technical questions to reach ‘Home’.

The creative side of these young enthusiasts was explored through the blogging session and T-shirt painting. The photography workshop, conducted by Mr Dharmesh Sachde, from the National Institute of Photography, was thoroughly enjoyed by the audience.

At the end of it all, Taqneeq left the students look forward to a bigger and longer period of the festival.

Make sure you catch the next version of Taqneeq, for the students will definitely not be left disappointed!
