Motorola Announced Defy+, Launches Next Month

Motorola Defy plus

Leaked already, Motorola has now gone official with the Defy+. Motorola Defy Plus is a successor to the original Defy that did pretty well being the only rugged Android device on the market (dust and water resistant – IP67). Defy+ brings a slight upgrade to the internals with a 1GHz processor running Android 2.3.4. The dimensions of the device remain the same as the original Defy, so does the weight at 118gms. The battery has got a bump from 1540mAh to 1700mAh while the 3.7-inch gorilla glass goodness, 854×480 resolution and the 5MP camera remains constant.

Motorola is countering Samsung’s Xcover announcement with the Defy+. The Xcover is not as richly spec’d as the Defy+ and the Defy+ might just launch before the Xcover. But keeping the competition aside, Motorola has a bunch of Defy users giving it an edge in the rugged Android race. The Motorola Defy+ would go on sale next month (early fall) across Asia, Europe and Latin America, though no word on pricing yet.
