Motorola Flipout square-shaped Android Phone Confirmed

More information on Motorola’s square-shaped handset has been surfaced. It was already known that the device will run Android 2.1, and it seems that it would be called the Motorola Flipout. An earlier leak showed a device with a similar form-factor called the Nokia Twist 7705, but there were no more revelations about this device.

The Flipout features a really fresh design with a full QWERTY keypad and a 2.8-inch display. More rumors suggest that the phone will have a 3.1-megapixel camera, full GPS functionality and a 700 MHz processor. It is yet unknown whether it would be a touchscreen device, but I think the chances are really high. Also, many of us are aware of a similar form-factor phone from Microsoft, the Kin One which has just gone on sale by Verizon. It seems that the phone will also feature Motorola’s very own BLUR user interface.

.

Look like Motorola will ship the phone in three different colors and I think that this phone will be targeted towards a younger audience just like the Kin One. Although, more specifications and details about the devices are yet to flow in we are already wondering whats wrong with all these companies rolling out these Social Media phones with a weird shape?
