Multitouch: A new way to nano

The new iPod nano (6th gen) is here. The click wheel and camera are removed to make way for a smaller multitouch design. The small 1.5″ screen shows four icons at a time, while you slide your finger for more pages, like in any other iOS device.

The new iPod nano is 46% smaller and 42% lighter than its previous generation. Its tiny multi-touch screen allows access to all your music, FM Radio and Nike+ support. It has hard volume keys, a pedometer and an accelerometer. A clip allows you to attach it to your belt, clothes or other accessories. The built-in lithium-ion battery gives 24 hours of music playback. The ‘shake to shuffle’ feature stays and plays a random song everytime you shake your iPod. One magical thing is the new ‘Live Pause’ thing that Apple had added. You can pause Live radio and rewind as much as 15 mins to listen back what you missed. And did we mention that this thing retains the 30 pin dock connector?

iPod nano 6th gen would be available in 7 colors and two capacities, 8GB for $149 and 16GB for $179. It is now available for order on Apple’s website and ships in 7 days. So are you getting a mini iPod touch?
