Nokia E6 Arrives, Aims To Replace Your Ageing E71, E72

Along with the X7, Nokia also took covers off its latest E-Series handset, the E6 earlier today. The E6 can be considered an update to the highly popular E7x series of handsets and is a direct upgrade to the Nokia E72. The E6 features a similar screen to that of the E71 and the E72 – except that the resolution has been almost doubled from the erstwhile 320*240 pixels to  an impressive (for a screen of this size) 640*480 pixels. Now, this resolution is even higher than that of the displays on Nokia’s other Symbian laden touchscreen handsets!

The phone packs in 8GB of internal memory that can be expaded to 32GB using microSD cards. There is an 8 megpixel shooter at the back aided with dual LED flash. It can also record videos in HD (720pat 25 fps)! The BP-4L removable battery is rated at 1500 mAH and provides enough juice to keep the phone powered for a month in standby mode. Talktime is rated for a good 7 hours and 30 minutes- and believe it or not, these are the figuresfor 3G networks. On GSM, this is definitely going much higher. Connectivity options include Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0 and USB. It also gets the N8’s USB on the go feature which I am sure, many would appreciate. At 133g, this isn’t heavy at all and  should be as pocketable as the older E-Series phones. The E6 runs the updated version of Symbian^3 and gets a redesigned UI with sleeker icons.

If you have been an ardent fan of Nokia’s ESeries devices, this one surely will impress you. The E6 seriously seems to be very good phone and is definitely worth a look when it arrives in the next few weeks. It is expected to be priced at 340 Euros at launch.
