Nokia ‘Point & Find’ to match Microsoft TAGs
April 1st, 2009 by Annkur
The latest Nokia service looks pretty similar in concept to the Microsoft TAG we saw earlier. But this is certainly cool stuff coming on April Fools Day. No this isn’t a joke; so before you mistake it for one here is the link to the Nokia press release.

Using advanced image recognition technologies ‘Point & Find’ allows you to simply point simply point their Nokia’s photo camera at real-life objects in order to obtain (via a www) relevant information about them.
Some examples of how this service would be used:
- A visitor to a museum points their phone at any object on display and immediately accesses related multimedia content and invitations to special museum events.
- A child at home points their phone at a toy and instantly enters related contests, downloads coupons, or purchases similar products.
- A woman on the go in the city points her phone at a cool new car and instantly sees details, finds the closest dealership, or schedules a test drive.
Currently available in the UK and US the service is still in beta.
