The latest rumors in the technology world suggest a 12MP camera phone from Nokia. Rumor also has it that Nokia would be announcing this phone during the MWC 2010 at Barcelona. There are a few speculations about a new naming scheme too, with the introduction of new C, X and S series along with the existing N and E series.
The rumored phone Nokia N8-00 could bring some promising numbers to Nokia. It would be the first from the Finnish manufacturer to sport a 12MP camera, which would allow a 720p video recording. It would also be the first to sport the new Symbian^3 OS. Other rumored specs include a 3.5″ capacitive touchscreen along with an HDMI output. Now package this with other features of the touchscreen 5000 series and you have a competitor for the iPhone ready.
Nokia is also bringing in a new naming scheme at the MWC 2010. While we have already seen a leaked handset from the new C-series, and a few from the X-series, the new added series here is the S series. The new naming scheme is as follows -
C: lower end voice-based.
X: focus on entertainment, music for a young target
E: dedicated to business, solutions for e-mails
N: High-end N-series phones
S: very upscale and limited editions
Although we don’t see the Nokia N98 QWERTY slider rumor coming true at the MWC 2010, we really wish to see Nokia make a comeback with a 12MP phone and the new naming series. We’ll keep you updated about Nokia’s move with our MWC 2010 coverage.
