Nokia X6 & X3 revealed @ Nokia World 09, N97 Mini gets official!

Nokia has just gone official with the X series handsets X6 and X3 at Nokia World 2009 along with the much rumored N97 mini. Pricing, Specifications and more details on the Booklet 3G are also out (more on that later).

The Nokia X6

Nokia X6-00 is a geeky and slim smartphone loaded with some decent specs. This one would please the iPhone lovers that want to use a Nokia (sorry, but the comparison with the ‘i’ comes in whenever we discuss a full touchscreen). X6 targets music lovers with 35 hours of non stop music and 32GB memory. Hopefully the widescreen display will allow better usability of touch features than what we have seen with the 5800. This one will hit the stores before year end (guess right in time to cash in on the holiday season). Pricing approx $650 (EUR459).

The Nokia X3

X3 is a Series 40 device with a 2.2″ touchscreen and a slide-out keypad. Priced very moderately at $160approx [EUR115]. This one targets the low end users but manages to throw in the goodness of the Ovi Store.

X3 Features:

3.2MP camera with 4X digital Zoom
3.5mm audio jack
Bluetooth 2.1 AD2P
Memory: 46MB internal + MicroSD upto 16GB

The X3 looks much more appealing to us from a commercial point of view, as the pricing will work wonders for Nokia (yes even with the S40 base). The high end market has too much competition for Nokia to handle IMHO. The N97, N900, X6 might sell in decent numbers, but the competition thrown in by Samsung Jet, LG Arena, Palm Pre and of course the iPhone 3GS is heavy!

Nokia also made the N97 mini official. However the pricing isn’t too attractive at EUR450 ($630). We still wonder if there is a real need for a Mini N97, however this would as we said before appeal to the ones who have always labeled (and avoided) the Nokia communicator series as a compass box.
