Official: Acer to launch Android handset by year end
June 2nd, 2009 by Annkur

Though Acer had shown interest in Android smartphones earlier, they have officially joined the OHA (Open Handset Alliance) and promised an Anroid smartphone by 2009 end (while I am sure at the same time Android Netbooks would also be out). This would be amongst the bunch of 20 Android devices we expect to see this year.
We would assume that these Acer smartphones would be powered by Android 2.0 aka Donut. Earlier this year the PC giant hand entered the booming smartphone market with its Tempo Series – all powered by Windows Mobile.
Update: Ok Acer has the Android Netbook confirmed aswell (Q3 2009). Read here
(FYI, Image is the Current Tempo Series and not a Android design)
