OneNote arrives in App Store, will MS Office follow?

Microsoft has released a version of its note-making application, OneNote, for the iPhone, iPod touch and iPad. The app which is part of the MS Office suite on computers and is being used by over 80 million people in the US alone (according to Microsoft) is available for download on the iTunes App Store (although not in India yet). And it is free, although only for a limited time.

For those who do not know, OneNote lets you make a variety of notes, complete with bullets, pictures, and audio, with the option to capture handwriting, audio recordings and video clips. And just like on Windows Phone 7 (ouch!) the application on iOS devices will also allow users to sync up notes to Windows Live SkyDrive to be able to work on them from their computers later and vice versa. Small wonder it is considered among the best note taking applications around. We have not used it yet, but the screenshots indicate that in spite of being on iOS, the application has a distinctly ‘Windowy’ feel to it.

We suggest you rush to download it because Microsoft certainly will be putting a price tag on the application soon. While we wait for the app to be available in the Indian App Store, we wonder if other members of the, MS Office suite are on their way to iOS too. We hope they are, and are all free to start off with!
