Palm Pre 3 Skips The US; Sees Dramatic Dip In Price

After the unbeatable $99 deal on the HP Touchpad, it’s time to turn our attention to the top of the line smartphone from HP, the Pre 3. HP has decided to slash the price of the Pre 3 in both France and UK by a significant amount. The devices, which until now sold for 349 Euros in France and 299 GBP in Britain (both roughly equal to $500), will now go for a mere $75. That’s right! I tell you, that’s sheer value for money for a phone of that caliber.
Note that this price is for a fully loaded, unlocked device that you can use on any network across the globe. Thanks to the price cut, HP has already managed to sell out its stock of Pre 3’s in Germany. The Pre 3 made its debut earlier this year along with the Touchpad. Back them the company seemed excited about the prospects of these devices. However, with less than inspiring sales driven by unreasonable pricing, both the devices never found a fan following with the masses. That however, seems to have changed with these dramatic price cuts.

As for the Pre 3, here’s more on the device on the story we wrote about it at the time of its launch.

Another important announcement that HP made today was that the Pre 3 would not go on sale in the U.S. The phone can be used unlocked in the country though.
