Net Studio’s USB Firewall software will help you to accomplish this task. USB Firewall is a small software which protects your USB from malicious programs which will be launched because of autorun.inf file in the USB. The program runs in the background and pops up when a pen drive containing the autorun file is inserted and requests your action to be performed.
How to eliminate / remove USB autorun virus?
Generally in a USB flashdrive there shouldn’t be any autorun file, but as soon as the USB drive is used on a infected PC the autorun virus gets installed.
Here is how the software works. When the thumb drive is inserted the software detects the autorun file and gives warning in a small window. You can either click on “SHOW AUTORUN.INF “or Click “DELETE “. When the former is clicked, the software shows the script inside the autorun file, and if you feel that autorun file whose script is shown will be essential, then you can leave it, or you can click “DELETE “, and the autorun file will be deleted. (As a thumb rule, basic users should delete the file, while advanced users can decide themselves after seeing the content)
This is a perfect tool to remove autorun files from pen drive, not worth for removing autorun files infected in hard drives.
