Samsung Corby Mate comes to India

The Samsung Corby series has gained alot of popularity in a very small timespan. The series has become mostly popular among the youth for its support of popular social networks. In India, the Samsung Corby S3653 (full review here) has already found a place in thousands of pockets. Now Samsung is all set to roll out another handset in the Corby series for the Indian market – the Samsung Corby Mate.
The handset was initially only available in Europe as the B3310. Samsung then announced that the handset would now be introduced in India and be given the moniker “Corby Mate”.
Below is the feature list for the handset
- 2” TFT touchscreen display
- Quad-band GSM support
- Full slide-out QWERTY keypad
- 2 MP camera
- Bluetooth v2.1 with A2DP
- Music player with FM radio
- MicroSD card support
The odd thing about the Samsung Corby Mate is the numeric keypad on the side of the screen. With a small QWERTY keyboard and the odd placement of the numeric pad, we believe that messaging with the Corby Mate would not be really comfortable. The social networks supported are the same as that of Samsung Corby.
Overall, the Corby Mate is the same as the Samsung Corby except for the slide-out QWERTY. This handset is just another mid-range touch phone with not much to offer to their users. No news on the pricing and availability from Samsung as yet. We’re guessing that if the Corby Mate is priced slightly higher than the Corby, the latter will still end up being a better option still. Other good handsets in the same price range include the Samsung Star and LG Cookie.

120 euros now where i live. Nice looking, capacitive touch screen and famous Samsung brand. Obviously cannot see any better phone for the price…

is it having touch screen like corby
Sahil, it does feature a touchscreen, but not sure how good it is. Will review once it launches
