Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Launched In India For Rs.49,990!

Samsung has announced the launch of its flagship phablet – the Galaxy Note 3 in India. The launch comes just two weeks after the device made its global debut. Along with the Note 3, Samsung’s much talked about Galaxy Gear Smartwatch too makes its Indian debut. We will talk about that product in a separate article , though.

The Note 3 will be available across the country starting September 25 and as expected, it is definitely not something you would call affordable. With a launch price of Rs.49,990, this is the most expensive phablet Samsung has ever launched in India. As the norm however is, you can expect the prices to slide down dramatically in the months to come. You can also opt to pre-order the handset if you wish to by paying Rs.2000 at a Samsung outlet near you.

Just to inform you about the features on the Note 3, I am sure you all realise that the Note 3 will replace the existing Note 2 as the flagship phablet. This one while having similar dimensions to the Note 2 gets a bigger 5.7 inch display with a resolution of 1920*1080 pixels. In India, the Note 3 would be powered by Samsung’s own Exynos Octa 5420 processor – as opposed to the Snapdragon 800 on other variants elsewhere. This eight core chip also gets 3 GB of RAM – which should make multitasking a breeze on this device. Apart from the 32 GB of internal storage capacity, the phone also gets a micro SD card slot to expand the memory even further. Looks wise, this one is quite similar to the Note 2 – except for the fact that the rear of the device is made of a leather like material – instead of plastic – thereby endowing it a premium feel.

The main camera on the Note 3 can capture images at 13 megapixels.  The Indian version of the device is powered by Exynos Octa 5420 processor which mind you, is not a “true” Octa core processor. Also to be noted is the fact that this version does not get the capability to capture 4k video – which is kind of a bummer. Moe on the Note 3 in our launch article here!
