This is not the first time that Samsung and Sprint have come together to introduce an environment friendly phone. After the Samsung Reclaim, now the duo has come up with the Samsung Restore. And what better day to introduce the phone than the 40th anniversary of Earth Day.
The Samsung Restore is made of recycled plastic and 84% of the phone is recyclable. The phone’s charger is energy efficient with Energy Star v2.0 rating. The 100% recyclable packaging is made up of cardboard box which is made from 70% post consumer materials. The printing is done using soy ink. In addition, the user manual can be accessed online and would not come with the phone. It would also come with built-in software that give one-click access to tips on being eco-friendly.
The hardware specifications include a 2MP camera, side-sliding QWERTY, MP3 player, microSD support upto 32GB (2GB included) and Bluetooth. The phone would be available in two vibrant colors – Midnight and Limeade. Samsung Restore will be available this summer at a price of $49.99 after a two-year contract and $50 mail-in rebate.
