April 22nd, 2009 by Kunal

KDDI au, Japenese second largest mobile carrier announced this new handset from their summer line-up. This new handset is not only charged by solar energy, but is waterproof too.
A tiny solar panel behind the lid provides enough energy for the cell to make a quick call after just 10 minutes of solar charging. The phone also consist of the conventional battery upto 80% of which can be charged by solar power. The phone is yet to be named, though we will like to call it ‘Solar-Amphibian’.
This phone will be available in Japan from June, no plans for other markets yet.
