Nokia puts up a fight against Chinese handsets; Reminds of National Security

Cheap unbranded Chinese handsets are a big hit in India. In a highly competitive mobile market with razor thin margins; most small retailers have either stopped or significantly reduced trading in branded handsets in favor of these Imported ones (also check ebay). These Chinese handset designers are clever and understand their target market very well; Firstly they work on the quantity principle instead of quality and secondly they are priced less than half the Nokia’s and SE’s! Also not to forget some of them copying popular Nokia designs/tunes and also offering WM logos on bootup.

Chinese SWAT team to use Segways during Beijing Olympics 2008

Chinese army testing Segways for Olympics 2008 security
Apparently Neil Mukesh is not the only one moving around on a Segway these days. Chinese military has been testing these Segways as a part of their security arrangements for the Beijing Olympics 2008. They recently demonstrated their skills on the Segway during a anti-terrorist drill. While even the US army is known to use these Segways, it would be quite a amusing sight for the visitors to the Olympics this year (if at all the army moves around the town on those Segways)…
