Do you have an old Hard Drive eating dust on some top shelf of your work place? If you do, here is a cool way to use it and make some of your friends go wow for your new gizmo clock. All you have to do is follow the mod done by Svofski.
Modder Svofski converted his old hard drive into a digital clock using some LEDs and a controller circuit. The controller circuit and the LEDs are mounted behind the platter of the hard disk. LEDs glow to show the time on the rotating drive platter. The stroboscopic effect makes the numbers look persistent on the face of drive platter, while actually the numbers are created by the LEDs behind the platter.Check out the video to see the mod in action. The out of the box-designed Qlocktwo is a stylishly square wall clock designed by Biegert & Funk. The clock has no hands and shows time by brightened alphabets. Time is displayed after certain intervals and is always accurate, because of the clock adjusting to a certain DCF-77 central European time signal. Here is another weird concept for a gadget, a watch that tells you how rockin was your party last nite! Sometime these concepts make me wonder, how well the makers of these concept understand the upcoming generations geeky needs
(remember the other clock we saw?).
When you are partying, the clock calculates the amount of fun you are having according to the decibel level of sound in the room. The sound level upto 10 decibels means ‘No Party’, 21 to 50 decibel level is a ‘cocktail party’, 101 to 120 would be a ‘club party’ and above that is one hell of a party. And incase you were wondering, well yes this does show time aswell

The mosquito alarm clock will always make sure that you get up in the morning at the right time. The clock makes an annoying mosquito sound to wake you up in the morning at the cost of your early morning dreams. The mosquitoes won’t let you sleep in the night and then this mosquito alarm clock would make sure you don’t forget them the whole day.
For those of you who would like to go through the pain, its available at DannaBananas at $25.95. Also available in a mooing cow and crowing rooster version.
