Probably the first dual sim Android device, the General Mobile DSTL1 which kept us excited waiting for long has finally hit the stores. Not too expensive at $499 (as announced at mobile world congress earlier) the DSTL1 is a full featured touchscreen powered by Android v1.5.

Specs:

  • GSM/GPRS/EDGE (2.5G sans 3G / HSDPA)
  • 5MP autofocus camera with LED flash
  • 4GB internal memory
  • 3″ resistive touchscreen
  • Dual Sim with dual-standby mode
  • 624MHz processor
  • WiFi, Bluetooth 2.0, FM
  • Weight 135g

Currently available on Amazon and Art of Hitech in US, this might do better in the Asian countries which are yet to embrace 3G.

No surprises, just as reported earlier this is a Dual SIM Android with 5MP camera and a 3″ touchscreen. But the phone has been demoed on video at the Mobile World Congress. What hurts the most is the absence of 3G.

DSTL1 would cost less than $500.
